The TIFG will define O-RAN’s overall approach for testing and integration. This may include test & integration specifications; profiles to facilitate O-RAN productization, operationalization and commercialization; approaches to meet general requirements; and specifications of processes for performing integration and solution verification. TIFG is also responsible for defining O-RAN certification and badging processes and procedures.

There are currently three task groups under TIFG with respective details as below.

Test Task Group (TETG)

• Coordination of O-RAN test specifications across WGs/FGs to identify potential gaps and improvements, unify the terminology and principles (e.g. conformance testing, interoperability testing have the same meaning)
• Development of end-to-end tests that validate an O-RAN system as a black box
• Revision (improvement) of current end-to-end tests based on the feedbacks (OTICs, PlugFests) – cooperation with TIFG OPTG
• Sync meetings (ad-hoc/regular) with other O-RAN WGs/FGs
• Deliverables:

OTICs and PlugFests Task Groups (OPTG)

• Coordination of O-RAN PlugFests in cooperation with O-RAN Office: Call for hosting, Call for participation, PlugFest themes, PlugFest review meetings, PlugFest wiki
• Technical review/evaluation of submitted OTIC applications
• Administration of OTIC wiki catalogue – alignment with OTIC web catalogue
• Sync meetings (ad-hoc/regular) with O-RAN Office, OTICs, PlugFest hosts (e.g. providing updates, collecting feedbacks)

Certification and Badging Task Group (CBTG)

• Review of readiness of WGs/FGs test specifications to be included in O-RAN certification and badging program (cooperation WGs/FGs and with TIFG TETG)
• Development of new certificates and badges
• Development of processes and procedures for O-RAN certification and badging
• Sync meeting (ad-hoc/regular) with O-RAN Office, other O-RAN WGs/FGs
