The North American OTIC in the Dallas area is hosted by OpenLab @ UT Dallas and provides a neutral hosting environment for radio and optical equipment. OpenLab @ UT Dallas has been successfully validating open standards compliant equipment for multiple years and all the processes for safe handling of OEM equipment and information, as well as automated inventory and request tracking are all in place already. Combining interoperability validation with a research and education mission has been our priority from day one to attract and prepare the most talented students. There are two locations with all the infrastructure in place.
UTD OTIC supports a comprehensive O-RAN testing environment with full Keysight 5G tools: UE-SIM and RU-SIM (16 layers), MTRX 8 TRX, Wavejudge, TSA,ORAN Studio, DuSIM, CuSIM, CoreSIM, NE3, PXA Signal Analyzer, EXG Signal Generator, and GNSS emulator. OpenLab @ UT Dallas currently performs vendor-agnostic interoperability testing for O-RU, O-DU, and O-CU on behalf of the NTIA-funded ACCoRD consortium. Supported services include end-to-end performance, pairwise interoperability, O-RU/O-DU conformance, and basic security validation according to O-RAN specifications. The setup includes one SMO deployment (OSC release) currently integrating with the radio to control O-RUs via O1 interface.
