O-RAN ALLIANCE Global PlugFest Fall 2023 Initiated with 100 Participating Companies and Institutions

The O-RAN ALLIANCE (O-RAN), fulfilling its mission to transform Radio Access Networks (RAN) to be open, intelligent, virtualized and fully interoperable, started this year's second PlugFest - the O-RAN Global PlugFest Fall 2023.

The PlugFest will extend achievements from the Spring 2023 PlugFest in validating of O-RAN equipment conformance, performance and interoperability; tackling issues and overcome hurdles to wider technology adoption; and facilitating exploration of new features, scenarios and applications.

O-RAN Global PlugFest Fall 2023 takes place at 7 venues, hosted by 18 companies and institutions in 8 countries:

· O-RAN PlugFest hosted by Japan OTIC is hosted by YRP R&D Promotion Committee, NTT DOCOMO, KDDI, SoftBank and Rakuten Mobile in multiple cooperating labs

· O-RAN PlugFest hosted by LG Uplus in South Korea

· O-RAN PlugFest hosted by SK Telecom in South Korea

· O-RAN PlugFest hosted by Digital Catapult in London, UK

· O-RAN PlugFest hosted by EURECOM, i14y Lab, Orange, Telefónica, TIM and Vodafone across 6 European labs:

  • EURECOM Lab in Sophia-Antipolis, France
  • i14y Lab in Berlin, Germany - supported by Deutsche Telekom and EANTC and i14y consortium partners
  • Orange Open RAN Integration Centre in Paris, France
  • Telefónica Technology and Automation Lab in Madrid, Spain
  • TIM innovation lab in Torino, Italy
  • Vodafone Central ORAN Lab in Newbury, UK
