O-RAN ALLIANCE participants showcase 24 open and intelligent Radio Access Networks (RAN) solutions throughout MWC Barcelona 2026 and at the O-RAN Virtual Exhibition.
The Intelligent RAN demos highlight how O-RAN architecture enables advanced automation, AI-driven optimization, and closed-loop control across multi-vendor environments. Several demonstrations validate full-stack Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) capabilities, O-Cloud integration, AI/ML-driven orchestration, and autonomy-level closed loops, proving how open interfaces and disaggregated components accelerate real-world automation, resilience, and operational efficiency in both terrestrial and non-terrestrial networks.
The Open RAN demos emphasize interoperability, conformance, performance validation, and multi-vendor integration across O-RU, O-DU, O-CU, and O-Cloud environments. Several joint demos integrate AI-driven security validation, digital twins, energy-efficiency verification, and NTN emulation, demonstrating the maturity of disaggregated, standards-based open RAN systems and their readiness for scalable, secure, and high-performance commercial and private deployments.
In this joint demo, Aalyria’s Spacetime RIC and Keysight Technologies’ RICtest solution demonstrate TN–NTN coordination through simulation of a real-world disaster-response scenario where an MNO detects outages and programmatically requests on-demand 5G NTN satellite coverage to support relief efforts.
